Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are you SIP (Server Intervention Program) certified?
Yes, we are both Certified since 1994 and have extensive experience in all various functions. Our Bar Staff are also Smart Serve Certified.
2. Do you take care of the SOP (Special Occasion Permit) and how much does it cost?
We can apply for the SOP on your behalf and add the cost of it when we reconcile the accounts after the event. However, you can apply for it on your own, if you choose to. For more information and pricing, visit: https://www.agco.ca/alcohol/special-occasion-permits-private-event

3. Will it be an open bar or cash bar?
This is entirely your decision. We are happy to discuss what option will work best for you and your guests.

4. How does a cash bar work?
Tickets are sold at the door and redeemed for drinks at the bar. There are no cash transactions at the bar itself; this helps to alleviate line ups.

5. If I have a cash bar, who takes care of selling the tickets?
We can provide a Bar Staff to take care of selling the tickets. For functions with over 150 people, an additional Bar Staff is mandatory.

6. Who balances the Cash Bar?
If we have total control of selling the tickets, we are fully accountable and provide you with an accounting of transactions.
If you chose to provide your own person to tend to the ticket sales, we are not responsible for any financial accountability.

7. What type of alcohol will be served?
We are happy to provide you with suggestions as to what is the most popular drinks. However, we want to cater to your personal preference. We will go through your favorites, during consultation.

8. Is the bar open during dinner?
For licensing reason, Regulation stipulate that a Cash Bar must be closed during dinner while free wine is being served. However, we ensure that all patrons have their drink of choice during dinner.

For Open Bar, we can continue to serve during dinner.

9. Do I have to provide the Bar Staff with a meal?
Given that we are not able to leave the function, we would appreciate dinner being served to the Bar Staff.

10. Do you offer Table Service?
We can offer this service with an additional Bar Staff Fee.
11. Will there be a signature drink for the event?
We are happy to discuss your signature drink with you during consultation.
12. Who is providing the alcohol, mixers and garnishes?
This depends on the package you decide to go with.
Package A, you will be responsible for all your bar needs.
Package B, we know that organizing your event can be stressful. It is our pleasure to help alleviate some of your stress by taking care of all this for you.
13. How much of each type of alcohol is needed?
This will depend on your guest list. We will discuss this in detail during consultation.

14. Do you provide a shuttle service for guests?
No, this is your responsibility to ensure your guests arrive home safely. We are happy to provide you with services available in the area.

15. Are the non-alcohol drinks free of charge?
The generally consensus are non-alcohol drinks are free to your guests but this at your discretion.
16. Do you provide Coffee and Tea?
Unfortunately, is not included in the Bar Service. Normally, the kitchen provides it with the meal.
17. Who is setting up and cleaning up the bar?
Both of our packages include setting up and cleaning the bar.
18. Where will the bar(s) be located?
Where the bars are not evident, it will be at your discretion, but we are happy to provide you with suggestions.
19. Who is providing the tables and linens?
We do NOT offer tables and linens.
20. Will regular non-alcoholic drink service be done at the bar too?
Yes!
21. Will there be a champagne toast? If so, how will that work?
This is a personal preference that we can discuss during consultation.
22. How much ice will be needed? Who is providing the ice? How will the ice be stored?
If an ice machine is not provided with the venue, Package A, you provide it and Package B, we provide it.The ice is stored in a freezer at the venue.
If you are having an outdoor event, we can discuss options during consultation.
23. What time will the bartender arrive?
We arrive one hour prior to the arrival of your guests.
24. What time does the bar open?
Depends on the time of the event. The Bar will open at the time stipulated on your Special Occasion Permit.
25. What time is last call?
Last call is at 1:00am.
26. What will happen to left over alcohol?
Package A: you are fully responsible for all open and closed liquor.
Package B: Any bottles that are opened, will be given to you. All alcohol that is unopened, we will return to the Beer Store/Liquor Store and will form part of the accounting.
27. What happens to the alcohol empties?
Package A: you are fully responsible for returning the empties.
Package B: we return all the empties and provide the credit as part of our accounting.
28. Are there restrictions on how alcohol can be served? (i.e. Are shots, drinking games, keg stands, etc. allowed?)
This is a personal preference and can be discussed during consultation.
29. Who is responsible for cleaning the tables?
We are responsible for removing all the alcohol from the tables at the end of the event. We do not offer other clean up service.

30. Is glassware allowed at the event?
Municipality By-Laws often stipulate that all glassware must to be removed off tables after dinner. These restrictions are often part of the rental agreement between the client and the venue owners or municipality guidelines.
